Pottawatomie Wabaunsee Regional Library is the only two-county public library in Kansas. The Library serves a legal service population of 29,099 residents in Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Counties and maintains libraries in Alma, Alta Vista, Eskridge, Harveyville, Olsburg, Onaga, St. Marys, and Westmoreland. The collection managed by the Library currently totals around 100,000 items, shared among PWRL's eight locations. The legal service area encompasses a territory of 1,612 square miles.

JOB OPENING: Assistant Director - Pottawatomie Wabaunsee Regional Library

SALARY: Salary: $38,400 - $39,560
BENEFITS: Paid Vacation / Sick Leave / Holidays / KPERS Statewide Retirement Plan.
SEEKING TO FILL: Assistant Director for the Pottawatomie Wabaunsee Regional Library. This position plays a critical role in sustaining library and information services in Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Counties. The Assistant Director is scheduled to work forty hours a week and may have occasional evening and weekend hours. MLS, comparable relevant education, or extensive practical library experience needed; requires excellent communication / interpersonal skills; attention to detail a must.
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director in the total operation of the Pottawatomie-Wabaunsee Regional Library, including personnel, materials, and equipment; charged with the oversight of PWRL’s technology and computer systems; ability to present information and training a must; requires dexterity and strength to move materials and equipment; requires travel in Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Counties; Salary will be dependent, within budget limitations, upon the skills and experience of the applicant. The Assistant Director position is eligible for vacation and sick leave, and the successful applicant will be enrolled in the KPERS retirement system. SEEKING TO FILL:
Part Time Assistant Branch Librarian
Position at the Pottawatomie Wabaunsee Regional Library – St. Marys Branch.
This position is regularly scheduled to work sixteen hours per week,
including evening and Saturday hours. Relevant education, or practical
library experience preferred; computer experience required; needs excellent
communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail a must. Must be
physically able to stoop, stretch, plus ability to lift materials as needed.
The Assistant Branch Librarian is responsible for helping with the operation
of the PWRL St. Marys Headquarters Library. This position assists in
managing all aspects of the Headquarters Library operation including
circulating materials and maintaining equipment.

Librarian Position at the Pottawatomie Wabaunsee Regional Library –
Harveyville Mini Library. This position is scheduled to work three hours per
week and from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. each Saturday. Relevant education, or
practical library experience preferred; computer experience required; needs
excellent communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail a
must. Must be physically able to stoop, stretch, plus ability to lift
materials as needed.
The Assistant Mini Librarian is responsible for helping with the operation
of the PWRL Harveyville Mini Library. This position assists in managing all
aspects of the Mini Library operation including circulating materials and
maintaining equipment.
